American Cloud Computing Company, a global cloud and e-commerce leader headquartered in Seattle, faced a major workforce transition as it moved to automate processes with advanced robotics. To support employees whose roles were being impacted, the company needed a scalable way to build IT fundamentals, help workers become future-ready for technology careers, and serve a large, globally distributed employee base with varied skill levels and schedules. NetCom Learning was selected to design a customized learning solution.
NetCom Learning created a blended Computer Literacy and Entry Level IT Learning Program covering computer basics, help desk support, and fundamentals of CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+. The program used small groups of 20-25 employees, private on-site instruction, evening sessions over four months, and an e-learning platform with quick reference cards. The result was a flexible training model that maintained productivity while helping employees build marketable IT skills, support the company’s socially responsible downsizing goals, and prepare for new employment opportunities outside the organization.
