Customized Kubernetes Training Empowered Major American Airline To Modernize Its Mobile App And Offer Choice-Based Services For A Premium Travel Experience

Largest American Airline, one of the five largest airlines in the United States, needed to modernize its mobile app and create a more seamless, choice-based travel experience for customers during and after the COVID-19 disruption. To support a single view of the customer and deliver richer self-service options, the airline needed to move to cloud-based microservices and containers while improving scalability and reducing infrastructure costs. NetCom Learning provided customized Kubernetes training for its Cloud Engineering and Software Development teams.

NetCom Learning’s solution included Kubernetes Fundamentals, Introduction to DevOps with Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift I: Containers & Kubernetes, along with hands-on labs, facilitated sessions, and online resources. After the training, the airline’s teams were able to deploy and manage containerized applications, improve on-premise scaling, and reduce resource costs. This helped the airline modernize its mobile app, enable faster check-in and additional services, and generate thousands of boarding passes daily, while also supporting broader innovation efforts such as improved cabin interiors and expanded global connectivity.
