The International Peace Institute (IPI) is an independent, nonprofit think tank that produces research and timely analysis on global security through its publication The Global Observatory and advises organizations like the UN. With no marketing budget, IPI needed to identify the right topics and influencers on social media to amplify reports, promote events such as International Peace Day, and drive organic reach—challenges that outgrew free listening tools.
Using NetBase’s social analytics and Instant Search, IPI tracked key topics and regional hashtags, identified influential users, and enabled team members to monitor breaking trends in real time. The result was a jump in engagement and partnerships: followers rose from 40,000 to 78,000, The Global Observatory’s Facebook grew 1,284%, IPI trended in NYC on Peace Day with #UNGAxIPI, and they secured a Snapchat Story partnership to extend reach.
