Tata Consultancy Services collaborates with NetApp Storage to build a Futuristic Cloud Solution

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global IT services and consulting firm operating in 44 countries, needed a scalable, unified storage solution to expand its IT infrastructure and support a growing private-cloud business in India. TCS sought a platform that could deliver NAS and SAN flexibility, high performance, availability and manageability so storage would become a competitive differentiator for its iON cloud offering.

TCS standardized on a NetApp-based private cloud—deploying NetApp FAS HA pairs, VMware, Cisco and HP infrastructure to deliver more than 750 TB of capacity across two Indian sites and serve 50+ customers. Using NetApp features such as Snapshot, SnapMirror and FlexClone, TCS achieved rapid provisioning of cloned environments (including clones of 150+ production servers), improved reliability and availability, higher storage utilization through de-duplication and thin provisioning, and reduced overall costs.
