A NetApp Case Study
Solvinity, a leading Dutch managed‑hosting and cloud specialist formed from ASP4all and Bitbrains, faced the challenge of giving customers the agility and cost benefits of public cloud services while keeping business‑critical, stateful data highly available, secure and under European legal control. The company needed a way to combine scalable compute from hyperscalers with absolute control and protection of sensitive data.
Working with NetApp, Solvinity implemented a hybrid architecture using NetApp Private Storage for Cloud linked to Microsoft Azure via ExpressRoute. This kept data on private NetApp storage (with deduplication, snapshots and strong control) while enabling cloudbursting, efficient disaster recovery and cost savings from public cloud compute. The result: customers gain the “best of both worlds”—scalable, low‑cost compute plus retained control, improved DR and compliance with European data‑protection requirements, with a roadmap toward multi‑hyperscaler flexibility.
