Secure Data with SaaS Backup for Office 365

PROFI Engineering Systems AG, a medium-sized IT solution provider based in Darmstadt, moved from IBM Notes to Microsoft Office 365 and in 2017 faced the challenge of protecting cloud-hosted workflows and mailboxes. Native Office 365 tools and SaaS provider guarantees didn’t provide point‑in‑time recovery, long-term archiving or full control for GDPR compliance, so PROFI needed a reliable, easy-to-manage backup solution for Exchange, SharePoint and related services.

PROFI implemented NetApp SaaS Backup for Office 365 (distributed by Fujitsu), an agentless, cloud-native service that was fast to deploy and offers item-level restores, activity logging for audits, flexible storage location and GDPR‑capable data removal. The project (started Nov 2017, completed March 2018) delivered secure, compliant and easy-to-use backup and restore workflows, faster recoveries, and regular feature updates—allowing PROFI to protect customer data and confidently recommend the solution to clients.
