A NetApp Case Study
Pågen, one of Sweden’s largest bakeries and a major food exporter, needed to ensure its business‑critical order management system stayed online 24/7 as its business grew — processing about 5,000 invoices and 120,000 ordered items daily. Its aging storage infrastructure was reaching performance limits and threatened timely order processing and distribution, so Pågen sought an upgrade that would deliver higher performance, continuous availability, and simpler management.
Pågen replaced older systems with a NetApp 4‑node FAS8040 MetroCluster running ONTAP (reusing parts of the existing environment), providing synchronous mirroring across two data centers. The upgrade delivered zero RPO disaster recovery, lower database latency, faster order entry and reporting, smoother daily invoicing, reduced administrative overhead, and a resilient platform that has prevented unplanned downtime.
