OPET, a rapidly growing Turkish petroleum company, faced rising storage capacity and disk I/O demands driven by virtualized servers, databases and faster reporting needs. They required a cost-effective, high-performance storage platform that would support mission-critical operations without disrupting service.

OPET deployed NetApp All-Flash AFF8040 (with SAN upgraded to 16Gbps Fibre Channel and MS SQL cluster consolidation) in partnership with Prolink, migrating data with minimal downtime and hourly synchronization. The change delivered dramatically lower latency (≈1 ms) and high IOPS (up to 150,000), 4:1 storage efficiency through compression/deduplication/compaction, improved data protection via snapshots and clones, and met reporting and performance targets while controlling costs.
