A NetApp Case Study
OCBC NISP, one of Indonesia’s largest banks with 299 offices, ~6,000 employees and presence in 61 cities, embarked on a digital transformation to support mobile channels and data‑driven services. Its legacy storage couldn’t meet growing demand — data was increasing ~20% yearly — and the bank needed greater scalability, lower latency, stronger disaster recovery and faster development workflows to deliver real‑time digital banking experiences.
The bank implemented NetApp flash storage (All‑Flash/AFF and FAS systems) with inline deduplication, compression, compaction, Snapshot and SnapMirror, plus VDI and DevOps/API support. The rollout halved effective capacity needs (from 120TB to 60TB while data kept growing), shrank flash storage to one‑third, cut storage spending by ~90%, reduced electricity/cooling costs by 78% and rack usage by 63%, delivered <2.5 ms latency, faster backups and minute‑scale data clones — providing a scalable, high‑availability foundation for its digital banking initiatives.
