Nomura Uses NetApp All Flash Storage to Rebuild a More Efficient, Convenient and Stable Data Center

Nomura Asset Management Taiwan Ltd., a joint-venture investment firm managing large volumes of mission‑critical data across trading, accounting and marketing systems, faced aging storage hardware that could no longer meet performance, capacity or cloud‑connectivity needs. To maintain non‑disruptive operations and support future AI, big‑data and public‑cloud initiatives, Nomura required an all‑flash solution from a market‑leading vendor with strong local support and proven financial‑industry experience.

Nomura selected NetApp AFF A220 and, with partner SYSCOM, completed testing and a four‑weekend production cutover. The new all‑flash platform delivered immediate gains: database batch processing and backups are three times faster, online deduplication/compression achieved a 43:1 efficiency ratio, latency fell from ~10 ms to under 1 ms, and IOPS headroom rose substantially—resulting in a more efficient, stable and cloud‑ready data center.
