A NetApp Case Study
NISI (Non-Invasive Surgical Innovations), a Hong Kong–based startup developing deep‑learning software for non‑invasive surgical diagnostics, faced growing storage and throughput bottlenecks as labeled medical-image datasets expanded—its previous network (~1 Gbps) slowed model training and limited GPU utilization, threatening progress on its SaMD projects.
By deploying NetApp ONTAP AI with AFF all‑flash storage and NVIDIA DGX compute, NISI achieved over 40 Gb/s storage bandwidth, sustained throughput >2 GB/s, <1 ms latency and >95% GPU utilization. The solution cut training times and compute costs, improved data protection and scalability, allowed migration of other systems onto the platform, and accelerated NISI’s AI development toward clinical deployment.
