CHAT Academies is a North London multi‑academy trust of five schools educating about 2,200 students that was formed by bringing together four primary schools and a secondary school. The trust faced fragmented legacy infrastructure across four separate data centres, an overstretched IT team, and VDI performance problems that prevented teachers and staff from reliably accessing applications and resources from different sites or home.

By consolidating the four data centres onto a single platform underpinned by the NetApp FAS2552 hybrid flash storage system (with implementation support from Datatronix), CHAT Academies dramatically improved VDI speed, reliability and scale. Support calls fell about 70%, user satisfaction rose from roughly 30–40% to about 85%, staff morale and productivity improved, and the trust now has a resilient foundation for ongoing digital transformation, disaster recovery and future cloud adoption.
