Mellanox, a global supplier of high-performance networking products, needed to unify production, testing, and design data from multiple factories into a single, shareable, scalable, and reliable platform that could integrate with on‑premises systems, accelerate product innovation, and cut storage and disaster‑recovery costs.

Mellanox deployed NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP on Azure to manage NFS‑stored production logs and a cloud MongoDB, using tiering and deduplication to optimize costs and performance. The solution kept hot data on SSDs for fast access while offloading cold and DR data to Azure Blob storage, cutting the production data footprint by 69% and tiering 90% of disaster‑recovery cold data to lower‑cost object storage, while enabling flexible DR scheduling and lower compute/license expenses.
