Monash University Takes Higher Education to the Cloud

Monash University, Australia’s largest university with over 80,000 students and staff, pursued a cloud-only strategy to modernize IT, reduce rising data center costs, and deliver instant web and mobile access for students and faculty. The challenge was to move diverse corporate and academic environments to AWS at scale while simplifying provisioning for a large IT team and maintaining compliance, data protection, and cost control.

By deploying NetApp ONTAP Cloud on AWS together with the Kumolus Cloud Management Platform, Monash gained drag-and-drop full‑stack provisioning, enterprise data management, and seamless on‑premises replication.
