MOL Group and SLOVNAFT Build All-New SAP Infrastructure on NetApp and Fujitsu to Gain 24/7 Uptime and Agility

MOL Group, a leading international oil and gas company, and its refinery SLOVNAFT faced the challenge of building an all-new, shared SAP infrastructure across two sites (Budapest and Bratislava). They needed a cost-effective, highly adaptable platform to run core SAP modules (ERP, HR, SRM, CRM, GRC), migrate from Oracle Financials, deliver 24/7 availability, support disaster recovery, and minimize administration while scaling for growing workloads.

The team deployed a best-practice solution using Fujitsu PRIMERGY blade servers, NetApp FAS3250 clustered storage with Data ONTAP and Snapshot technology, SUSE Linux, SAP ASE, and LNW-Soft’s Proactive Management System. The two-data-center, symmetric design provides nondisruptive operations, fast point-in-time backups and cloning (15 systems in ~10 minutes), storage-layer replication, and automated management. Results include improved uptime and agility, simplified operations and backup, seamless scalability for initial 1,700+ users, and a validated platform ready for future growth.
