Mantra Group, a major Australia‑based hospitality operator with brands like Peppers, Mantra and BreakFree, grew from 17 to 117 properties and needed to keep its SIHOT central reservation SQL Server fast and highly available as online bookings and acquisitions surged. The challenge was to maintain sub-second reservation response times and robust, noninvasive data protection under unpredictable, high-volume loads from OTAs and customers.

Mantra moved its reservation database to a NetApp All‑Flash FAS (in a FlexPod environment) with integrated data‑protection tools (SnapProtect, SnapMirror, deduplication), gaining much lower latency, fast disk‑to‑disk backups and seamless replication. The result: significantly faster, consistent reservation response times, nondisruptive 24/7 operations, reduced IT overhead and costs, the ability to support more than 200 properties (and up to a 100% business increase), and simplified, reliable backup and recovery.
