Katz, Sapper & Miller (KSM) is a top U.S. CPA firm with 275 employees serving 16,000 client sites. Rapid data growth (about 25% annually), aging servers and storage, a two-person IT team, and painfully slow SharePoint searches (previously taking two to three hours) threatened billable time, data protection, and disaster-recovery objectives.

KSM engaged Logicalis to deploy VMware vSphere on a FlexPod platform (NetApp FAS3240/FAS2240, Cisco UCS/Nexus/Catalyst, 10GbE) with NetApp deduplication, thin provisioning and SnapMirror for DR. The new infrastructure virtualized core apps, reclaimed 400+ GB via dedupe, and cut customer-record access time by ~95 (searches now take seconds), reduced RTOs from ~48 to 2–4 hours and RPOs from 24 hours to under 1 hour, and delivered faster provisioning, higher uptime and lower operational cost.
