Korea University Medicine Builds Advanced Infrastructure to Lead the Future of Healthcare

Korea University Medicine, a comprehensive medical institution that operates a college of medicine and three hospitals with over 7,000 staff, sought to modernize its systems as part of its “Enabling Future Medicine” initiative. Facing a legacy PACS setup that required client‑installed viewers and a lack of space and hardware to deploy a web‑based PACS, the organization needed a more manageable, high‑performance infrastructure to support AI, data analytics and a cloud‑based hospital information system.

Korea University Medicine deployed NetApp HCI to virtualize servers, simplify management, and provide automatic failover and separated compute/storage for cost‑efficient expansion. The platform now supports PACS, mobile PACS and PACS report search services, delivering improved performance, agility, stability and efficiency—enabling faster emergency responses, better scalability and cost savings while improving patient care and satisfaction.
