A NetApp Case Study
Kokomo School Corporation, a K–12 district serving about 6,300 students with a seven‑person IT team, faced slow applications and strained storage as it expanded online learning and a 1:1 device initiative. Aging third‑party disks and siloed infrastructure were causing performance bottlenecks and long provisioning times, limiting the district’s ability to support teachers, administrators, and students in real time.
Partnering with Presidio, Kokomo modernized its data center with FlexPod Datacenter and NetApp All Flash FAS, consolidating storage and preserving existing investments. The upgrade cut server provisioning from 4 hours to under 10 minutes, reduced the IT footprint by 83% (fewer outlets, lower power and cooling), more than doubled usable capacity through deduplication and thin provisioning, and eliminated performance issues so staff and students get fast, reliable access to applications and data.
