INNEO Solutions, a leading IT and product development service provider with about 270 employees across Germany, Switzerland and the UK, needed to modernize its backup strategy and demonstrate cloud-integrated options to customers. As a long-standing NetApp partner, INNEO aimed to replace tape storage, reduce media risk, and offer Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) while using the new solution internally.

INNEO deployed NetApp AltaVault as a virtual appliance with StorageGRID Webscale S3 for offsite storage; data is cached locally and transferred encrypted, compressed and deduplicated to the cloud. The move eliminated tape, improved data availability via caching, and delivered up to 30:1 data reduction, lower storage costs, and scalable integration with existing backup software—resulting in faster restores, reduced risk, and a solution INNEO now recommends to customers.
