Ichthus College, a Christian secondary school in Veenendaal with about 2,100 students and 200 staff, faced an urgent IT challenge: its aging HP MSA storage had reached end-of-support and blocked VMware vSphere upgrades. The college needed future-proof, high-performance all-flash storage, expanded Ethernet/NFS connectivity to replace Fibre Channel, and seamless integration with its existing Veeam backup environment and vSphere management.

Working with reseller Damecon, Ichthus implemented a NetApp all‑flash FAS2650 running ONTAP 9, delivering multi-protocol support (FC, NFS, iSCSI, CIFS) and native Veeam integration. The deployment provided low-latency performance, greater capacity with data-efficiency features (dedupe, compression, compaction), non-disruptive operations, lower TCO and five years of support—resulting in reliable backup and recovery, simplified management, and improved business continuity.
