Bosch needed a more agile, scalable development infrastructure to speed innovation but couldn’t use public cloud because of strict security and a highly customized environment. Rapid growth of a private-cloud VM‑cloning approach strained storage and slowed onboarding, so Bosch sought a solution that would enable continuous integration at scale.

Using NetApp building blocks (AFF A300 nodes, FlexClone thin‑cloning and a REST API), Bosch implemented an infrastructure‑as‑code platform that instantly creates unique VMs for automated builds. Clones are created in under one second and Bosch now generates about 3,500 VMs per building block daily, cutting storage needs and costs, reducing power/cooling, and accelerating developer productivity and time to market.
