HGC Global Communications, a Hong Kong–headquartered telecom and data center provider with 25 overseas offices, faced rapidly growing data and the need to refresh and scale infrastructure that supports 20 mission‑critical applications (HR, finance, billing, VDI). As the company expanded globally, it struggled to meet rising demands for capacity, performance, and data protection while maintaining operational efficiency.

Working with Macroview, HGC consolidated its data onto NetApp AFF all‑flash systems and ONTAP, deploying unified SAN/NAS storage and NetApp features such as FlexClone, Snapshot, and MetroCluster for efficient cloning, fast backups, and synchronous disaster recovery. The result: storage provisioning in minutes, near‑instant space‑efficient copies, zero RPO with sub‑2‑minute RTO, an SSD footprint reduced by at least 5×, and lower overall TCO—freeing IT to focus on business development and innovation.
