GK Software enables retailers to optimize data management

GK Software, a global provider of retail and payment solutions with 500,000+ installations in over 60 countries, needed more reliable, higher-performance storage to support its private cloud, development pipelines, and omnichannel services. As several systems reached capacity or end-of-support, GK sought secure, nondisruptive backups and increased storage performance to sustain faster builds, testing, and global expansion.

Working with NetApp and partner Logicalis, GK upgraded to NetApp ONTAP-based storage—mixing AFF all-flash and FAS systems, Active IQ monitoring, SnapVault/Snapshot backups, and SnapMirror replication—while adding SSD/SAS shelves, new cluster switches, and all‑flash clusters at key sites. The result was higher capacity and performance (NVMe flash sped up builds and testing), seamless backups and maintenance, lower energy use and footprint, and improved agility to support growth and future cloud-based options.
