Preview of the Federal Law Enforcement Agency Case Study

Federal Law Enforcement Agency Strengthens Data Control and Governance

A major federal law enforcement agency managing 800+ TB of sensitive evidence and records faced a DOJ mandate to close its data center while needing to cut IT costs, refresh aging infrastructure, and maintain strict chain-of-custody and data governance—requirements that ruled out putting data into a standard public cloud.

Working with NetApp and partner 1901 Group, the agency adopted NetApp Private Storage as a Service (NPSaaS): dedicated, FedRAMP-authorized NetApp storage housed in a private Equinix cage with direct, fault-tolerant links to public clouds. The model preserved physical data control and compliance, delivered managed, pay-as-you-go infrastructure and disaster recovery, enabled rapid scaling and multi-cloud flexibility, and reduced capital outlays and ongoing operational risk.
