DG Khan Cement Co. Ltd. Supports Business Growth with NetApp Hybrid Storage for Oracle and Microsoft Applications

DG Khan Cement Company Limited, one of Pakistan’s largest cement producers with about 4.2 million tons/year capacity and 1,200 employees, faced rapidly growing data needs as production and IT users expanded (data growth ~20%/year) and a third plant was built. The company needed seamless scalability, efficient operations, and lower costs to support mission‑critical Oracle and Microsoft applications and ensure business continuity.

DGKCC deployed NetApp hybrid storage (two FAS2552 systems on Data ONTAP with Flash Pool, SnapMirror replication, and OnCommand management) via partner Synergy Computers to consolidate VMs and applications across primary and DR sites. The solution reduced the storage footprint by ~40%, saved roughly 40% capacity through deduplication and thin provisioning, sped up databases with Flash Pool caching, simplified management, and provided scalable, reliable DR—allowing IT to support current users and upcoming growth without major infrastructure changes.
