Delivering near Real-time Fund Information to Investors

HedgeServ, a global independent fund administrator managing over $300 billion in assets across 10 offices, needed to deliver near–real-time P&L and other investor services while supporting rapid, 24/7 global growth. The firm struggled with storage-driven bottlenecks—constantly buying new arrays, costly migrations, and the need to support both legacy “pet” applications and cloud-ready “cattle” workloads with guaranteed performance and high availability.

HedgeServ implemented NetApp SolidFire with deep OpenStack and VMware integration, mature APIs, and scale-out all‑flash architecture to automate provisioning and ensure QoS. The result: QA time shrank from 18 hours to under 2 hours, VM deployment went from nearly an hour to minutes, about 95% of production runs on SolidFire, and the company achieved faster development cycles, lower TCO, and the ability to rapidly provision UAT and new client services.
