Comfy Quilts - Customer Case Study

Comfy Quilts, a family-owned UK manufacturer and one of Europe’s leading producers of quilts, pillows and bed linens, had outgrown its legacy IT. A siloed server model and insufficient storage caused frequent outages and left the business vulnerable to catastrophic failures—an ordering-system outage could halt production and cost over £1.3m in a week—so the company set out to virtualize and modernize its infrastructure.

Working with systems integrator LIMA, Comfy Quilts deployed a FlexPod Hyper-V environment with NetApp FAS2240 for primary storage and FAS2552 with clustered Data ONTAP and Veeam for disaster recovery. The solution eliminated downtime, scaled user support from ~70 to 350+, enabled a move toward thin clients/VDI, saved an estimated £150k/year in power and uptime, and delivered a reliable foundation for continuous production and future growth.
