Axians, a VINCI Energies brand providing ICT solutions and hybrid cloud services across Europe, runs a VMware-based AxiansCloud and a 24/7 Networking Operations Center. Faced with rapid growth, the need to consolidate infrastructure, improve scalability and reliability, and launch Backup-as-a-Service, Axians sought a high-performance, flexible storage platform that would eliminate downtime and support diverse customer needs.

Axians implemented an all‑flash FlexPod built on NetApp AFF8080 SSD arrays with NetApp ONTAP and data-protection tools (SnapVault, SnapMirror, SnapCenter) on VMware. The new platform delivered non‑disruptive operations, significant storage savings through deduplication/compression, reduced energy and rack footprint, protocol-independent data services, fast customer deployment, and the ability to scale and offer BaaS — all while lowering management costs.
