ALD Automotive, a global fleet‑management and leasing firm headquartered in Belgium, needed to replace an aging storage setup that had reached its IOPS and latency limits. The existing rack servers caused performance bottlenecks for Business Intelligence and Oracle workloads, and the IT team required an integrated, easy‑to‑manage system that would work seamlessly with their Veeam backup and disaster‑recovery processes.
Working with partner Simac, ALD Automotive implemented a NetApp FlexPod mini (NetApp storage with Cisco UCS) using ONTAP 9.1 plus SnapMirror and SnapVault, with Veeam and VMware integration. The new platform eliminated the bottlenecks, delivered predictable low‑latency throughput, improved BI/Oracle performance, enabled strong deduplication and consolidation into a single rack for cost savings, and kept the DR site synchronized for reliable backups and peace of mind.
