Advanced UniByte New Cloud Service Offering with NetApp

Advanced UniByte (AU) is a German IT services provider with more than 20 years’ experience that recently expanded from a system house into cloud and SaaS offerings. Faced with a legacy, inflexible storage environment that couldn’t provide spatially separated backups, redundancy, or standard disaster-recovery capabilities, AU needed a secure, fast, transparent, and highly available platform to support cloud, backup, and DR services.

AU deployed NetApp AltaVault, E-Series, FAS8020 and StorageGRID Webscale (integrated with Cisco UCS and VMware), creating a cloud gateway with inline deduplication/compression and a scalable, self‑rebalancing SAN. The result: faster, more efficient cloud backups and near-instantaneous recoveries, reduced data‑center footprint, new BaaS/DRaaS/PaaS offerings, the ability to serve customers regardless of their existing infrastructure, and rapid market uptake (three customers in the first 14 days).
