A NETSCOUT Case Study
A centralized government IT agency that provides network, application, and WAN connectivity for multiple bureaus migrated services from its private data centers to Equinix colocation facilities. Their primary challenge was preserving the same real-time and historical network and application performance visibility they relied on in the data center—despite moving traffic to new Co‑lo environments and upsizing links to 10/40/100Gb—to avoid service degradations for employees and constituents.
They extended their existing NETSCOUT deployment—nGeniusONE Service Assurance with Dedicated Global Manager, InfiniStreamNG appliances/software, vSTREAM virtual appliances, and PFOS-enabled PFS 5100 packet brokers—to capture and analyze packet and application telemetry in the Co‑los. The solution maintained continuous monitoring and reporting, closed potential visibility gaps during the migration, supported higher-speed links, and enabled a seamless move with preserved user experience and better capacity planning.
