A NETSCOUT Case Study
A university-affiliated U.S. hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center with nearly 1,000 beds and extensive teaching and specialty services faced unreliable performance from an aging vendor monitoring stack. Oversubscribed data-source appliances and hardware failures left IT without packet-level forensic data, hampering troubleshooting as the hospital acquired new facilities and applications and experienced remote Wi‑Fi and application issues.
The hospital deployed NETSCOUT’s nGeniusONE service assurance platform with InfiniStreamNG software appliances and used NETSCOUT’s nGenius Visibility as a Service (nVaaS) consultative approach to operationalize it. The solution delivered real-time visibility into WAN/SD‑WAN/VPN, Citrix, VoIP, Office 365 and clinical apps including GE MUSE NX and Cerner PowerChart, enabling faster triage, proactive monitoring, accommodation of traffic growth, cost-aligned deployment, and improved reliability and delivery of care across campus and remote sites.
