A NETSCOUT Case Study
A U.S. state IT agency that supports networks, applications and unified communications for hundreds of public entities (including emergency services, DMV and education) faced growing service assurance challenges after deploying a new data center and UC/VoIP environment. Limited visibility into multi‑tier applications and voice services led to roughly 450 incident tickets per month, elevated MTTR, frequent outages that delayed critical services and exposed revenue-generating programs to thousands of dollars in lost opportunity.
The agency upgraded to NETSCOUT’s nGeniusONE for UC, deployed InfiniStreamNG appliances with ASI+ and a standby nGeniusONE server, and added OptiView XG for portable troubleshooting. Early use of real‑time dashboards and automated service dependency mapping let NOC and voice teams visualize and triage issues quickly, reducing MTTR and outages, improving VoIP and application performance across data centers and remote sites, and helping safeguard service delivery, funding and constituent outcomes.
