A NETSCOUT Case Study
Shared Services Canada (SSC) is the federal IT agency responsible for managing and securing a nationwide technology estate that supports 43 departments and roughly 377,000 users across more than 3,000 sites. Charged with consolidating 485 data centers into seven, streamlining wide area networks and modernizing infrastructure to meet the government’s Blueprint 2020 goals, SSC needed a virtualized, highly mobile target state while maintaining end-to-end operational visibility and reliable service delivery for mission‑critical applications.
To achieve this, SSC deployed NETSCOUT’s nGeniusONE platform and Adaptive Service Intelligence (ASI™) instrumentation at strategic points across the data center and MPLS core (between virtual/physical servers, Nexus and Catalyst switches, firewalls and SLB/SSL offloads). The solution provides unified network-to-application analytics and continuous traffic-based monitoring, enabling rapid triage, forensic analysis and proactive problem resolution — reducing Mean‑Time‑To‑Knowledge by up to 90% and helping ensure a consistent, high‑performance user experience during the migration and consolidation program.
