Manufacturer Improves Network Perimeter Defense With NETSCOUT AED

A U.S. heavy-equipment manufacturer with production in more than a dozen countries relied on NETSCOUT packet monitoring but faced a manual, hard-to-maintain firewall IP blacklist and a growing threat landscape that outpaced its perimeter defenses. SecOps needed a next-generation solution to automate blocking and improve DDoS prevention while complementing existing NetOps visibility tools.

The company deployed NETSCOUT Arbor Edge Defense inline on links already feeding InfiniStreamNG and nGeniusONE, automating deny/allow lists, stopping DDoS attacks up to 40 Gbps and mitigating TCP-state exhaustion attacks. The deployment improved NetOps–SecOps collaboration, integrated with the security stack via RESTful APIs and industry formats (Syslog, STIX/TAXII), and delivered greater operational efficiency and cost optimization through a single-vendor approach.
