Improve Network Reliability With Hybrid Cloud Visibility

The IT department for a U.S. state—responsible for networks and applications used by thousands of employees and millions of citizens—was undergoing a major digital transformation with new data centers and increased cloud services. During these migrations they faced limited visibility across a complex hybrid environment, intermittent performance and availability problems, and difficulty diagnosing whether issues were caused by network, server, VPN, or cloud dependencies, all of which lengthened time to knowledge and repair.

To address this, they deployed a packet-centric NETSCOUT solution stack—nGeniusONE, InfiniStreamNG appliances, Packet Flow Switches/PFOS, and TAPS—aggregating packet data and applying DPI, service dependency mapping, session analysis, and forensic packet inspection. The result was real-time, end-to-end visibility that improved MTTK and MTTR, enabled faster root-cause resolution (for example, identifying a VPN concurrency bottleneck), and increased overall performance, security, and reliability across their hybrid infrastructure.
