Hostopia, a wholesale private-label web services provider for telcos, ISPs and resellers, faced growing DDoS risk that threatened its customers and required heavy manual intervention. Mitigation relied on custom in‑house modules and specialized staff, making responses time-consuming and difficult to scale as multi-vector and larger attacks became more frequent.

Hostopia deployed Arbor’s Peakflow SP and Peakflow SP Threat Management System—an out‑of‑band, flow‑based detection and surgical mitigation solution—to automate defenses and remove only attack traffic. The solution enabled automatic mitigation above set thresholds, reduced the time and number of staff needed to stop attacks, allowed controlled delegation of monitoring, and freed technical teams to focus on core services while keeping customers protected.
