A NETSCOUT Case Study
One of the world’s largest courier and logistics companies—operating in 220+ countries, delivering over 1.3 billion parcels a year with 380,000 employees—faced escalating DDoS risk across its globally distributed datacenters. Relying on multiple regional providers left them with inconsistent SLAs and complex, costly management; a series of targeted attacks in late 2019 threatened flight operations and, with the COVID-19–driven surge in VPN traffic, exposed capacity shortfalls that could disrupt deliveries and employee access.
NETSCOUT responded with Arbor Cloud emergency mitigation, Arbor Edge Defense appliances and Arbor Emergency Services, plus a subscription licensing model to quickly scale capacity (including additional AED 2600/2800 units). The SOC mitigated the attacks, handled the VPN bandwidth increase, and provided a single provider/SLA and rapid global procurement—restoring operational resilience, protecting deliveries and employee access, and giving the company confidence against future DDoS incidents.
