A NETSCOUT Case Study
NETSCOUT supported a branch of the U.S. Military that needed comprehensive, global visibility into application and network performance to ensure secure, reliable communications for hundreds of thousands of personnel. The organization required both passive, packet-based monitoring and active transaction testing to detect issues quickly and reduce mean time to repair (MTTR) across data centers, cloud services, and dozens of remote locations.
NETSCOUT deployed nGeniusONE with InfiniStreamNG, Packet Flow Switches, and nGeniusPULSE with 2000/3000-series nPoint sensors (plus on-site engineers), running continuous Business Transaction Tests for VPN, HTTP/DNS, Citrix VDI and more at ~100 remote sites. The combined passive and active approach sped detection and troubleshooting, reduced MTTR, improved VPN reliability by enabling gateway expansion, fed actionable data to Splunk, and delivered a more consistent, validated end-user experience.
