EMC Insurance, a top-60 U.S. property-and-casualty carrier with more than 2,100 employees operating from two Iowa data centers and a decentralized network of 16 branch offices and five service centers, faced increasing complaints about slow application responsiveness. IT could not pinpoint whether degradations were due to the WAN, applications, or servers and needed a scalable, cost-effective way to extend end-to-end visibility as new services like VoIP were rolled out.
EMC deployed NetScout’s nGenius solution—InfiniStream appliances in the data centers and nGenius Integrated Agents installed on existing Cisco ISRs at branch sites—giving the team user-perspective, end-to-end monitoring without heavy hardware costs. The result: faster root-cause identification, reduced downtime, optimized network performance for critical apps (email, VoIP, video, transaction processing), and more predictable response times that support better service delivery to employees and independent agents.
