Case Study: Cerner achieves real-time visibility and carrier-class cloud availability with NETSCOUT nGenius

A NETSCOUT Case Study

Preview of the Cerner Case Study

Cerner Corporation Gains Critical Real-Time Visibility into Cloud-Based Service Delivery with NETSCOUT

Cerner, a global health IT company serving about 14,000 facilities, needed to ensure carrier-class performance and 99.999% uptime for its cloud-based electronic medical records and Citrix-delivered services. Rapid growth, a distributed WAN and heavy Citrix traffic made troubleshooting difficult and time-consuming with manual packet captures, putting SLAs and patient care at risk.

Cerner deployed NETSCOUT’s nGenius suite—nGeniusONE, InfiniStream appliances and nGenius 3900 packet flow switches—to gain real-time, end-to-end visibility across networks, virtualized hosts and applications. The solution enabled proactive/predictive monitoring, historical forensics and tailored reporting, which sped root-cause identification, prevented incidents (e.g., SSH spikes, DNS rejections), improved service availability and operational efficiency, and helped assure SLA compliance and higher customer satisfaction.
