Big Data Services Provider Uses Omnis Cyber Intelligence in AWS for Full Visibility and Enhanced Security Posture

Forte Data Solutions, a managed services provider specializing in big data, databases, cloud and virtualization, faced a major cybersecurity incident when their corporate WordPress site was compromised twice by the “Pharma Hack,” causing search engines to redirect users to malicious pages. With their hosting provider unable to provide diagnostics, Forte rebuilt and self-hosted the site in AWS and sought real-time monitoring and threat intelligence to restore trust and prevent future breaches.

Forte deployed NETSCOUT Omnis Cyber Intelligence (OCI) and CyberStream sensors in a dedicated AWS Security VPC, using traffic mirroring via GWLB endpoints plus NETSCOUT Smart Data and the ATLAS threat feed to capture packet-level visibility and IoCs without changing their site architecture. The solution delivered geographic and behavioral insights, enabled faster detection, investigation and remediation, reduced MTTR, and shifted their posture from reactive to proactive with ongoing host forensics and threat anticipation.
