A large, central U.S. commercial bank serving nearly 20 million customers across thousands of branches faced mounting risk as outages and performance issues in online banking, teller and other client services threatened customer confidence. Its complex Shared Data Access Network (SDAN) produced very high traffic volumes that often overwrote stored research data before Tier 3 teams could analyze it, and any fix needed to work with the bank’s existing 10GbE infrastructure while supporting a planned move to 40GbE.

The bank deployed NETSCOUT InfiniStream 9800 appliances to capture and retain packet-level data and deliver visibility across both sides of F5 load balancers and branch head ends, supporting 10GbE today and 40GbE in the future. The solution reduced packet loss for deep-dive analysis, sped troubleshooting and mean time to repair for online banking and teller apps, and future‑proofed the bank’s monitoring for next‑gen data centers.
