Australian Domain Registry Protects Customers with Arbor Networks

Netregistry Group, Australia’s largest domain registrar and a major web host serving over 500,000 customers, faced a rising wave of DDoS activity—especially DNS reflection attacks—and struggled to manage consistent attack policies and visibility across a large, diverse customer base and multiple upstream links.

Netregistry deployed Arbor Networks’ Pravail Availability Protection System (Pravail APS) at the network edge, using Cloud Signaling, traffic categorization and in-line packet capture to gain a single pane of glass for monitoring and policy control. Pravail scrubbed malicious traffic in real time, immediately stopping several large attacks on DNS infrastructure, improving response times and overall network visibility while preserving customer and company reputation.
