A NETSCOUT Case Study
Bulletproof Networks, a tier‑one Australian managed cloud hosting provider for customers ranging from small businesses to governments, was seeing an increase in DDoS attacks—including repeated assaults from a large technology forum—that threatened availability of business‑critical transactional sites. Reliance on upstream providers to block attacks was slow and often resulted in blackholing the target, risking SLA breaches, customer losses and damage to Bulletproof’s service reputation.
To address this, Bulletproof deployed Arbor Networks’ Pravail APS in its Australian and U.S. POPs and enabled Cloud Signaling to automatically involve upstream providers; after an initial watch‑only phase the solution was moved inline and integrated within six months. The deployment quickly blocked multiple attacks, kept customer sites online, strengthened Bulletproof’s mission‑critical positioning, supported U.S. growth and reduced SLA exposure—providing improved reliability and a clear return on investment.
