A NETSCOUT Case Study
aixit GmbH, founded in 1996, is a German data center, hosting and Internet access provider operating two large, highly redundant data centers in Frankfurt and Offenbach and serving over 250 customers. Because DDoS attacks on any single tenant can disrupt shared circuits and services, aixit needed a way to detect and stop attacks on a per-customer basis without introducing an in-line point of failure.
aixit deployed Arbor’s Peakflow SP Collector Platforms and Peakflow SP Threat Management Systems out-of-band, using BGP off‑ramps for surgical mitigation of attack traffic (using TMS 2500 and 3050 models) while allowing legitimate traffic to flow. The solution eliminated an inline failure risk, enabled precise, per-customer protection, and allowed aixit to launch a tiered managed DDoS service ("Look & Protect"), strengthening customer relationships and generating new revenue.
