A Nerdio Case Study
Impact is a large Chicago-based managed service provider (founded in 1999 with 23 locations and 750–800+ staff) that needed to scale cloud operations, onboard new Azure customers, and replace manual, inconsistent processes as cloud workloads grew and Nerdio for Azure was being sunset. To maintain momentum and continue standardizing Azure deployments, Impact partnered with vendor Nerdio and began transitioning from Nerdio for Azure to Nerdio Manager for MSP in late fall 2021.
Nerdio implemented its multi-tenant Nerdio Manager for MSP platform—adding improved host-pool management, a REST API for deeper automation, and Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Manager integrations—so Impact could standardize, automate, and manage dozens of client Azure tenants from one interface. By summer 2022 several dozen client environments (about one-third net-new) had been migrated, Impact doubled its Azure engineering team, accelerated onboarding and troubleshooting, and leveraged Nerdio’s automation and license optimization to reduce Azure compute and storage costs by up to 80%.
