Advancing IoT Experiences for Patients and Doctors

Nerdery partnered with a national medical-device leader to modernize the patient and clinician experience for an implanted cardiac-monitoring device. The existing solution relied on bedside monitors and an outdated, costly communication system that was cumbersome for doctors, slow to transmit information, and tedious and time-consuming for patients.

We designed and built an IoT-enabled native mobile app that wirelessly captures and transmits heart and diagnostic data to providers in real time. The patient-focused design replaced a slow, onerous workflow with a seamless, out-of-mind experience, improved clinician access to timely data, included thorough implementation documentation, and led to follow-on work building another patient app for heart-failure devices.
