Case Study: Department of Conservation achieves easier mobile asset maintenance with Neptune Software’s MyPM

A Neptune Software Case Study

Preview of the Department of Conservation Case Study

Why the Department of Conservation chose a mobile PM solution, and the impact it had on their SAP processes, the organisation and their people

The Department of Conservation (DOC) in New Zealand manages 8.7 million hectares of conservation land, including thousands of tracks, bridges, signs, and other assets that require regular inspections. Its existing SAP Work Manager mobile asset solution was difficult to use in the field, leading to poor uptake and even some Rangers reverting to paper-based processes. Neptune Software was brought in through Soltius’ MyPM mobile asset management solution to improve offline data capture and asset maintenance.

Neptune Software’s MyPM solution, implemented by Soltius, provided DOC with an intuitive offline SAP Plant Maintenance app with Fiori-based mobile and admin interfaces. Rangers could synchronize once, then work offline to complete inspections, raise notifications, capture GPS and photos, and manage multiple work orders without data loss. The result was much higher mobile device usage, faster adoption with minimal training, and better engagement and confidence in the captured data, helping DOC move into its next generation of mobile asset management.
